The role

As an experienced and highly motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Definely’s products are aggressively tested and meet our exemplary standards of quality and reliability as we release new features and products for desktop and web. Our customers trust us to provide accurate information about their legal documents and contracts to draft, review and execute their agreements.

As a Senior Development Engineer in Test (SDET), the primary purpose of your role is to:

  • Thoroughly learn Definely software products, think through use cases critically, design and execute comprehensive automated and manual test scripts to assess software quality, stability, and performance.
  • Develop, design and implement automated tests for backend, desktop and web applications using various automation tools such as CoreBDD, Cucumber, Selenium, and other relevant tools.
  • Create test plans and test cases.
  • Identify and write detailed bug reports.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Execute different types of testing for frontend and backend systems including, but not limited to unit testing, UI/UX testing, API testing, and performance testing.
  • Continuously improve the testing process and coverage by implementing new automation tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate and communicate with architects, developers, and QA team on identifying outcomes and results.

About you

  • 5+ years of experience in software development and testing with strong emphasis on test automation creation, maintenance, and execution for desktop and web applications, and backend systems.
  • Proficient in C# programming. Experience in Java and/or Python is a plus.
  • Experience with .NET including .NET framework and .NET core.
  • Experience in software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining test frameworks.
  • Experience in mapping test strategies to requirements and creating detailed test cases.
  • Working knowledge with test case management tools (e.g. TestRail).
  • Good relational and/or non-relational database experience.
  • Strong collaboration skills as you will be working together with DEVs and QAs in multiple areas.
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Git, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work on time and within budget.
  • Someone who isn't afraid of responsibility, loves learning and sharing, and a down-to-earth personality.
  • Software certifications are a bonus.
