Shaping the future of Legal AI
At Definely, our goal is simple: to empower lawyers by augmenting their workflow so they can access critical information as efficiently as possible. In 2025, we are committing to three pillars in our AI roadmap that will help our users draft and review complex contracts faster and more accurately than ever before:
1. ‘Fordifying’ Legal AI with Enhance
Early in 2025, we’ll launch the next version of Definely Enhance, our multi-agent AI system powered by our agentic framework, a new methodology for orchestrating specialised AI agents to assist legal workflows. This isn’t just a chatbot upgrade: Enhance embodies the principles of 'Fordification' for legal AI. Just as Ford’s assembly line revolutionised manufacturing by breaking tasks into specialised components, Enhance will use multiple specialised agents – each optimised for a specific task like summarisation, legal drafting or document analysis – to streamline legal workflows with unmatched precision and efficiency. Imagine having a dynamic assistant that can:
- Works across multiple linked documents you’re working on.
- Can follow up on queries conversationally, maintaining full context.
- Includes sophisticated clause drafting using precedents from your DMS to maintain style and quality.
- Has access to your law firms DMS, answering queries and performing tasks related to them.
- Assists with other legal drafting tasks and client enquires.
- Summarises, edits and provides content suggestions with precision.
- Provides ground-breaking editing tools to speed up the draft and review process.
- With your approval, performs actions directly in the document for you.
2. Consequential Changes for smarter decisions
Contracts are an intricate web of information where even minor modifications can ripple across an entire document. Our Consequential Changes feature is designed to highlight these ripples, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
Initially we will identify areas of a contract impacted by simple changes, whether it’s an addition, deletion or modification. We’ll then elevate this capability to explain the broader consequences of changes, suggest recommendations and even detect subtle shifts in obligations or responsibilities.
This is about more than efficiency; it’s about making lawyers more informed and confident they’re not adding unintended risk into their contracts.
3. PDF improvements: speed meets precision
PDFs and scanned documents remain a cornerstone of legal work, but they’re also a persistent bottleneck. We’ll be rolling out a significantly improved OCR (optical character recognition engine) that will boost speed and accuracy for document processing.
These improvements will ensure that lawyers can access key information in PDF legal documents and spend less time wrestling with technology.
Join us in shaping the future of legal workflows
At Definely, we believe innovation is a team sport. That’s why we’re actively engaging with customers and legal professionals to gather feedback, refine our tools and ensure we’re solving the problems that matter most.
It’s our vision is to position Definely as the cornerstone of AI-driven transformation in the legal industry. With tools that augment human action and empower lawyers to navigate complex documents with clarity and speed, we’re building more than just technology – we’re building the future of legal workflows.
